Huracán refuses to leave its stadium for the match with River Plate. The club issued a statement in which it stands up to the City of Buenos Aires and asserts that it will play at home against River Plate next Thursday.

What happened?

The Buenos Aires government is forcing Huracán to leave its stadium for the match with River Plate, but the club refuses and plans to sue the City.

On March 3, during the early morning hours, a parking lot located 500 meters from Huracán's stadium collapsed. This forced the evacuation of dozens of people and activated a major emergency operation in the surrounding area.

Why is it important for Huracán?

Huracán's president, Abel Poza, stated: "We are waiting for the resolution of the Security Committee that is being carried out now. We have nothing official, just a letter that says we cannot play here. We want to play at home with the public because there is nothing that prevents it".

What comes next?

Huracán remains in dispute with the Buenos Aires City Government, which maintains that the match against River Plate scheduled for this Thursday at 21:30 should be changed to a different venue and not played at the Tomás Adolfo Ducó stadium.
