Luca Babino, the young Huracán player, has fulfilled his dream of debuting in the First Team in the win against Racing de Montevideo in the Copa Sudamericana. At just 19 years old, Babino has shown his grit and determination to reach this moment. Raised in La Salada, Babino has always been surrounded by football, as his family has a stall selling Huracán merchandise in the Parque Patricios fair. His father, Marcelo, and mother, Alejandra, have been his biggest supporters throughout his career. Babino recalls that when he was a kid, his grandfather was a Huracán fan and that he inherited that passion. He started playing in the baby football league and went through every category until reaching the Reserves in 2022, under the guidance of Claudio 'Chacho' Cabrera. However, his career was interrupted by an injury in March 2023, when he tore his cruciate ligaments playing for the Reserves. He was out of action for a whole year, but never lost faith in his ability to return. And so he did, returning in April 2024 and adding minutes to his game, earning a starting spot in the Reserves. At the beginning of the year, the 19-year-old was called up to join the professional squad for pre-season training. The debut came just a few days ago, and Babino remembers that when coach Kudelka called him, his heart skipped a beat. He said it was the moment he had been waiting for and that he felt proud to represent the club. Babino describes his playing style as intelligent and says he likes the style of Neymar. Off the pitch, Babino is a quiet guy who likes to hang out with friends and go to the mall. Although he doesn't have a nickname yet, he does have a lot of people backing him, and when he debuted, his phone blew up with messages from friends and acquaintances from the club. Babino knows that behind that debut are many early mornings, trips, games, injuries, and tears, but also something that can't be negotiated: his passion for football and his love for Huracán. The young player is clear that he wants to add minutes to his game and that in the future, he would like to play in Europe or Brazil, to be able to support himself financially and help his family. With his feet on the ground, Babino lives with his parents and says that for now, he is content with the minimum wage he receives. However, he knows that his career has just begun and that he has a lot ahead of him. Walking through the Parque Patricios neighborhood, it's common to see the Babino family at the fair, selling Huracán merchandise. It's a stall they've had for years and that has been their livelihood. Babino remembers that his family has always been there to support him, and that his father and mother have been his greatest motivation. The young player knows that he has a great responsibility on his shoulders, but he's ready to face the challenge. With his debut in Huracán, Babino has shown that he has the talent and determination to go far in football. Only time will tell how far he can go, but one thing is certain: Luca Babino is a gem for Huracán. He has a long way to go, but he's taking it one step at a time. For now, he's just enjoying the moment and the opportunity to play for the club he loves. And as he looks to the future, Babino knows that he has the support of his family and the fans to help him achieve his dreams.
